The Compare Documents feature allows you to compare two PDF documents in order to easily find the differences between them. CovePDF offers a Visual Comparison of the documents that places the two documents side-by-side and highlights the changes between the referent document and a newer document.
The referent document should be an older version of a document.
The referent document is always positioned on the left hand side.
The new document is the documents to which changes have been applied to.
To compare documents , perform the following steps:
- Select the Review Menu
- Click on the Compare button on the Review toolbar
- The Compare Documents Dialog will open.
- In the Compare Documents Dialog Box, click on Select Referent Document field.
- Select a document from one of the options:
- Click on Browse where you can browse for and select a document (.pdf file) to open in CovePDF.
- Select one of the Recent Documents.
- In the Compare Documents Dialog Box, click on Select New Document filed.
- Select a document from one of the options:
- Click on Browse where you can browse for and select a document (.pdf file) to open in CovePDF.
- Select one of the Recent Documents.
- After selecting both documents, you can swap the position of the documents by clicking on the swap icon and make the new document the referent document.
- Indicate a Page range for specific pages you would want to compare. For example: 1, 5-7, 9
- Click the Start button and the system will process and compare the documents
- Cove PDF will display the compared documents as new document in a new tab.
- The two documents will be aligned side by side, the referent document on left and the new document on the right.
The system provides a visual display of changes with a color legend.
